KPI Recording/ Charting/ Corrective Action Management System

KPI measurement is a crucial aspect of organizational performance management. KPIs are quantifiable metrics that reflect how effectively an organization is achieving its key business objectives. Many Businesses record KPIs with the intention of charting their achievements in working towards their goals and make informed decisions.

We created a KPI management system for a large medical device manufacturer to help them record, visualise and track their KPIs. They had been using Excel spreadsheets to record their KPIs but this had become labour intensive, cumbersome and prone to hiding small errors. Our system was designed using .Net and SQL Server to store the data.

The system designed was capable of:

  • Holding a list of KPIs including a description of their meaning and relevance to the Organisation
  • A method of calculating the KPI from given weekly/ monthly inputs
  • A system for creating calculated KPIs, where the output from one KPI is the input to another e.g. Water usage per Unit depends on teh number of Units produced in the period
  • A method of creating lower and upper limits and charting same
  • A method of identifying non-conforming KPIs and attaching Corrective Actions to the Out of Specification KPIs
  • A management system for tracking the progress and close-out of the Corrective Actions
